The Farman F.230 was a light touring aircraft designed in the early 1930s. A fuselage of 6.13 m (20 ft 1 in) long was fitted with of wide choice of engine, both radials or inline. The wingspan was in three sections with a slight dihedral on outer panels.<br>
Intended for pilots with limited money, the basic two-seat type with a 40 hp engine cost a third of the price of similar aircraft but its rear-centered design was unpopular for pilot with limited experience so the F.350 took off for the first time the next year. With an extra length of 65 cm (25 inches), the type was sometimes built from former F.23n modified. One more time, sub-versions were differentiated by their engines. This French aircraft was popular through numerous record breaking flights, the F.356 holding no less than 18.<br>
A hundred of both F.230 and F.350 and derivatives were produced.
