A meteor crashlands outside of a small Arizona town. Author and amateur astronomer John Putnum suspects it is actually a spaceship from another world and has brought something monstrous with it. Or has it...?

Bell 47D

Helicopter belonging to crop duster Pete Davis. It rather bizarrely features an open-topped cockpit and wheeled landing gear in lieu of skids. John and Ellen hire it to fly them out to inspect the impact crater. Registration N189B.
