Unidentified Aircraft

As Hal is testing the new Reynolds (in fact the Kinner Sportster), Berty fails to take off the Cycloplane then finds a magazine in which he's trying to learn aerobatics. Those with good eyes and a sharp knowledge of 1935 aviation magazines could perhaps help us to identify this airplane ?

Berty is not reading a magazine but a catalog : "Air Associates. Aviation supply catalog n°16. 1934". The plane on the front cover is a Lockheed Vega.
