Tachikawa Ki-9 seen in The Magnificent Kotobuki (Ep. 3).


The Tachikawa Ki-9 was a two-seat unequal wingspan biplane used as intermediate training aircraft by the Imperial Japanese Army Air Force. Built by Tachikawa Aircraft Company Ltd, the first flight ocured on 7 January 1935. Around 2,500 were built and someof them were used by Japanese satellite countries. After the war, some sized examples continued to fly in China and Indonesia until 1951. It was known to the Allies under the nickname of "Spruce" during World War II.
