Reg. G-OHCP Aérospatiale AS-355F-1 Ecureuil 2 c/n 5249 built in 1982. Was first G-BKJX then G-TOFF (1983-1988) and G-STVE (1988-1990) and G-BTVS (until 1994).
Having entered IMC (Instrument Meteorological Conditions), descended and struck the Summit of Rhinog Fawr, Snowdonia, Wales, United Kingdom on 29 March 2017. The actually all brick red helicopter was destroyed, and all five persons on board were killed. The registration has not yet cancelled (and the airframe de-registered) as at May 2024.
Of course, the explosion is filmed with a model as evidenced by the stationary rotor.
