Talk:Commando
Bell 206
This is a good example of distinguishing registrations etc.
The registration is actually N230CA. See Talk:The Gauntlet for related info. The other ID 'O-258GB' is obviously intended to be a military registration for production purposes i.e. it is not a real registration. Military aircraft will often have their own registration formats, see IMPDb:Military Aircraft Identification, or in films a civilian one if it not an actual military aircraft. They never have two REAL registrations. If they have both then the civilian one is most likely real as there's no point in having it otherwise.
Interestingly N230CA is a 'repeat offender' on this site - Lethal Weapon, Darkman.
Hope this is helpful!

- We should make a special page listing all the appearances of N230CA. I think it is also in Blue Thunder and Scanners. My question is, is it the same JetRanger each time, or do they just reuse the numbers? - Kooshmeister
- The numbers are issued by the FAA so cannot be reused as they please. I believe it is the same helicopter every time - will just be a company that makes helicopters available for charter. However, there is no record of that helicopter being registered with that ID before 2004, when the latest registration certificate was issued. It did however have an Airworthiness Certificate in 1988, although this is after it appeared in many productions. The airframe was involved in an accident in New Orleans in September 2005 and is possible it was written-off then. It could be a completely different airframe however I suspect not. The Seaplane is a Grumman G-21 Goose , maybe the 1st on this site? Registration numbers seems to be a fake one, otherwise it's written-off? but it shouldn't be re-used , what it is actually . Sixcyl
