Pauline, a wealthy young heiress, postpones her marriage to Harry, wishing first to experience a "life of adventure". Since she can only inherit on condition that she marries, her fortune is administered until further notice by Owen, secretary to the late Sanford Marvin. Seeing himself definitively placed at the head of this financial empire, should anything happen to Pauline, the Machiavellian Owen/Koerner decides to eliminate her by any means necessary, with the recurring complicity of a man named Hicks.
Note : The Perils of Pauline is a Franco-American serial film co-directed by Frenchman Louis J. Gasnier and American Donald MacKenzie, released in the USA in 1914 in twenty episodes (all lost to this day). A condensed nine-episode version was released to European audiences in 1916. It is these nine episodes that have been used for this IMPDB page.

Owen/Koerner inspires Pauline to go ballooning. Hicks, his accomplice, provokes panic and so an uncontrolled takeoff with the heroine alone in the basket... What will become of her, who knows nothing about this machine?
Note : In one incident, a balloon carrying White escaped and carried her across the Hudson River into a storm, before landing miles away.

Note : in the 20-episode US release, this was episode 2.
As Pauline wants to fly at the aviation meeting, Owen/Koerner plans to sabotage the plane on which she is due to fly.
Both types are melt through the editing and the poor quality of the copy doesn't help to say exactly which version it is especially about the Wright plane. This could be too a Wright Model E.
As the Voisin takes off, the next action is this Wright craft. Is it the same pilot or another competitor ?
