As the standard patrol was actually three aircraft among major air forces but Germany just set the Rotte with only two fighters, they are probably acting Condor Legion of the Nationalists forces.

A woman is reading a newspaper titling about the attack on Pearl Harbor and Allan is actually living in the U.S.A. so we could hope a flight of Boeing B-17s... but the plan view is wrong. Wing and moreover horizontal stabilizers are those of Avro Lancasters or Handley Page Halifax!
