Used by the three French army corps, Armée de l’Air, Aéronavale and earth corps (ALAT=Aviation Légère de l’Armée de Terre) in the Algerian conflict 1954-62.
Sikosrky H-19
SNCASE produced the H-19/S-55 under Sikorsky license (about 500 built). French Army Light Aviation service (ALAT) used it widely during the Algerian and Vietnam conflicts. This one could be a French built H-19, or a British licence-built Westland Whirlwind, also operated by French Army in Algeria (around 40 used).
Filming was in Spain so probably a Spanish H-19.
Note the 32F tactical code of Flottille 32F (French Fleet Air Arm). This air unit was heavily involved in Algerian fightings from 1957 to cease fire (1961) but used Sud Aviation HSS-1 / (military naval Sikorsky S-58).
